Hubers

A couple of weeks ago we took a family trip to Huber's for pumpkins. Georgia LOVES pumpkins and has for months so it has been really exciting this month to see pumpkins everywhere. We had a really good time. Our neighbors went a few days before us and gave us the heads up that it is colder and more windy there than it is here so we bundled up and I am so glad because it was really cold!

I love this one of my boys!

Georgia really liked the wagon ride to the pumpkin patch. I love this photo.

As always there are more photos than this on Facebook. It just takes so long to upload them to the blog!

Georgia is 2!

Georgia turned 2 on September 22nd. We were out of town for her actual birthday so we just celebrated with my side of the family last Sunday (10/4) and I am just now getting around to posting the photos. I wanted to go ahead and put them up so I could post about Hubers next then celebrating her birthday with Chad's side of the family next week when his sister is home from college. Whew we've been busy lately.

These are not in order...I always forget to do them backward until I am half way done and by then I have spent too much time to go back adn redo them. Maybe for my next post I will get the order right...

By the end of her party she was soooo tired. She was playing in her room and when things got quiet I went to check on her and this is what I found.

She still doesn't get the opening presents part but she loved the toys she got!

She did not like being sung to.

Deceptively Delicious

Some parents have kids that won't eat veggies. Georgia will eat veggies but I have a hard time getting her to eat protein, especially in the morning. I don't mind giving her sweet breakfasts but I would like for her to have some protein to go with it. Sometimes she will eat it and sometimes she won't. I am so sneaky and tricky that I scrambled an egg, chopped it up real tiny and stirred it into her oatmeal (with brown sugar and half & half, of course) and she ate it all! Victory! She loves oatmeal because Belle and the Beast eat it for breakfast in Beauty and the Beast. Stay tuned for Halloween photos, Georgia is going to be Belle!

For those of you with non-veggie eaters, I got a book called Deceptively Delicious that has some good ideas. I have not tried too many of them (since Georgia will actually eat veggies) but I aspire to. Or you could whip up a veggie cocktail like my friend, Betsy (which I also keep meaning to do but haven't)! What do you all do to make sure your kiddos get what they need to stay healthy?

Peek-a-Boo

Tonight was my first night back to work since before I had Noah. I think it will be good for our family since I am just working one night a week at this point. My parents are out of town this week so my sweet mother in law volunteered to watch the kiddos while Chad and I worked. They gave her a hard time but when we got home Georgia fell asleep and Noah was ready to play. I decided to play peek-a-boo with him for the first time with an old cloth diaper and this was his reaction!

Vacation in the Mountains

My sweet parents have a time share at the Alpine Village in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina (just outside of Burnsville and near Ashville). This year they could not use their first week so they offered it to us. They have a 2 bedroom unit so we were also able to bring our friends, The Colyers! Here are some of the highlights..

Chad was really looking forward to reading his Bible outside on the balcony looking over the mountains.

Georgia had fun bouncing with Anna Colyer while the adults played Settlers of Catan. After playing Jeff and Brittney's favorite game we were sold. If we go ahead and buy it are there any of you all out there who like to play games? (Check out the Colyers' blog for a video of the girls)

There are some neat shops and this nice courtyard in downtown Burnsville so we stopped to let the kids play a bit.

This is the bed all 4 of us piled into. Georgia is just a bit too big for the pack and play so we didn't even bother bringing it and Noah won't sleep the whole night in the bassinet so all four of us (plus Ruby Buttons, Cookie monster, the monkey and blankets Georgia brings with her) all slept in this bed.

Here is my sweet boy in his Spiderman outfit.....my superhero.

This was another break from little shops; this time in Little Switzerland. We have been here several times but this year was a bit different now that Georgia is 2!

The best family photo we could pull off at the orchard.

All 7 of us at the Orchard at Altapass

Georgia loved this toy of Anna's. She thought they were bracelets. And Jeff and Brittney brought Georgia some Sesame Street Stickers for her birthday and she loved sticking them all over herself!

More catching up to do...

We have been pretty busy in the Nuss household lately and I just haven't seemed to be able to pull off uploading photos to our blog. I will try to do better...

Noah is getting stronger and more handsome all the time!

Georgia and I made play doh. She loved teh rolling pin and cookie cutters. She could take or leave the play doh. She didn't really like it until I rolled it into little balls. I guess she is still a bit too young but I'll keep trying. Next time I make it I will try to remember to do that cool thing where you take a photo of all the ingredients and each step of the process. It is so easy to make!

We were able to go to the KY state fair when it was in town. Here are some highlights..

Georgia was sacked out by the time we made it to the midway.

This was a motorized puppy that drove around by remote control. The sheriff who operated it stood a bit away from the car and spoke into a headset so it sounded like the puppy was talking...and he would say things about the kids and to the kids so it was like he was real. Georgia LOVED him. I do believe she would have followed him all over the fair for the rest of the evening if we had let her.

She loved everything this year. She loved all the exhibits, she liked the animals (not as much as I thought she would though). We had so much fun!

I got Georgia some sidewalk chalks last year when we repaved the driveway but we didn't get them out until a few weeks ago. She loved them!

Freshly shampooed Noah...has a few curls!

This past weekend I was in my friend and college roomie's wedding.

Baby Pool and Baby Smiles

We got Georgia a baby pool and swim suit (now that the summer is almost over) and she loves it!

Yes, it is on concrete but it is the only flat area we have so I was watching her very carefully and yes, she has on SPF 50! The pool was partially in the shade by the time we got to it too.

This is one of those bouncy seats. It was Georgia's when she was an infant and we just got it out for Noah but Georgia has claimed it. She barely fits in it from head to rump but she LOVES it!

In the quest to get one of Noah's very handsome smiles on camera we have gotten some very cute shots. No real huge grins caught just yet but we will keep trying!

He loves his swing!

How cute is this?!?!?!?

This is part of our night time routine. Noah loves hearing Daddy read a story from the Jesus Storybook Bible and loves to be by his sister!
