Ronald McDonald House

Saturday morning a group of us from Christos Church volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House making breakfast for the families staying there. Our friend, Terry, met us there to walk us through it since his youth group at Bloomfield Baptist was originally going to volunteer but was unable to. We had an awesome time of serving and fellowship! I think we will try to make this a regular part of our ministry to our community.

Terry showing us around the kitchen

Chad, Erv and John...How many men does it take...just kidding! John really knows his way around a kitchen and Erv did great on the scrambled eggs. Chad took care of the buffet and some administrative details.

Of course, Georgia found the toys!

Larissa enjoyed some of the breakfast that was left over with Ronald.

The Nuss Fam also took advantage of the photo opp!

Kentucky State Fair

We had such a good time at the Fair tonight! Chad and I go every year but it was even more fun with Georgia this year.

We started inside because it was just too hot and too sunny to start outside. Plus, Georgia wouldn't keep her shades on for long...

I totally forgot to take photos while we were inside looking at all the arts, crafts and other entries. Gerogia slept through a lot of the day so I forget to take pics of anything else! My mom entered 10 things and won ribbons on 7. I can't believe I didn't take any photos to post. I will see if my parents are going again before it is over and have them email me some pics to post. We ran into a lot of my dad's side of the family so it was nice to catch up with them some.

Once we finally got to the midway we had to get one of those chocolate covered frozen cheesecakes on a stick. YUM! Our friend, Rob, was telling us about them at our Bible Study last night so it was on our list of things to eat at the fair along with corn dogs, brats, grater taters and german roasted nuts. Good thing we really only eat like this once or twice a year!

Maybe next year, Georgia...

Daddy won this toy for Georgia at one of those balloon popping games and she really seems to like it. I grew up having a mama fair bear and a baby fair bear that I loved so we named this guy fair frog.

Bats Game

LaGrange Baptist had their annual River Bats game outing last night so we went with our friends, the Fredricks.

We had good seats, the same section as last year. The weather was perfect! Not too hot, not too cold. Last year was so hot. I was 8 months pregnant and Betsy and Jeremy had an 8 month old crawling all over them so we all left exhausted! Check out Betsy's blog for last year's pics. Maybe they will even post one about this year's!

I couldn't believe it but Georgia slept through the noisiest part! Daddy has the magic touch.

Our friends, Jacob, Jeremy and Betsy.

Georgia and Mama.

We even stayed for the fireworks.

Check out my friend, Maren's blog for the top 10 things she learned about baseball when she and her husband went to a game last Monday! So funny!

Girls' Day Out

The Cat House Rugs where my mom works was closed last week so we took advantage of my mom's vacation and had a girls' day out on Thursday. Check out the patterns for sale on their website. Many were designed by my mom, Kaye Miller. She is so talented!

Three generations...

My loot. A small money purse and a FABULOUS cake stand. (Since my mom is a workin' woman now she treated me to a few goodies!) You can loop any color ribbon through the holes. I have been wanting one of these for a while and we found them at a great price at a little shop in Middletown. There are a ton of great little shops with unique gifts but we really liked one in particular. I don't think they have a website but it is called "A Splash of Color" and is located in the Livery House next to the Head House at 11601 Main Street in Middletown. If you ever have the chance you should check it out!

One great thing about this stand is that if you turn it over it can double as a chips and dip server!

There was even stuff for Georgia. She likes the finger puppet but is a little leary of the hand puppet sometimes!
It was a great day. We were non-stop from about 12:30-8:30 with a quick lunch at McAlister's between the Middletown shops and the Middletown Peddler's Mall. We literally shopped till we dropped!
