It's a Boy!

We had our ultrasound this morning and everything looks great. Robert Noah Nuss (we'll call him Noah) is healthy and right on schedule! Georgia has a little brother! I guess we better start buying some blue!

There are more photos on my Facebook page so if you are on Facebook, check them out! If we aren't "friends" already...friend me! I'll try to post a photo of my baby "bump" soon too. I will be 18 weeks tomorrow but I am still not that big. Totally different than my pregnancy with Georgia!
Sorry to those who didn't even know we are pregnant! It is so hard to keep up with who is pregnant and when everyone is due and who all we've told during this season of our lives!

Our Little Paper Carrier

I thought some of you might get a kick out of this. Chad took this photo with his phone the Sunday we did a friend's route in addition to ours so Chad has all his papers and half of mine in the back of our Ford Explorer. You should have seen my little Jetta! At least I was the only paper carrier in that car though! It's not normally quite this bad, but close...

Nuss November

Georgia playing in the leaves. Our front yard is huge and has 5 huge trees. LOTS of leaves.
Georgia playing in the neighbor's leaves while we raked them with Jeff and Brittney during a Christos Clean Saturday.

What a good helper daddy has.

The ladies.

Pretty Thanksgiving dress

Decking the Halls

Sorry I have been such a slacker on updating the blog. I have been sucked into Facebook (friend me if you are too!) so if I am ever online I end up checking email and spending too much time on Facebook to do anything else! Here is a look at last month's highlights (in no particular order).

Holiday Recipe

This is one of my favorite dessert recipes for the holidays. It makes plenty of icing so it always turns out as pretty as this photo from the cookbook! YUM!

Mocha-Hazelnut Cream-Filled Cake

1 box (18.25 oz) butter recipe chocolate cake mix
Butter
Water
Eggs
2 teaspoons instant coffee granules or crystals

2 bags (12 oz. each) semisweet chocolate chips
1 bottle (16 oz.) refrigerated hazelnut-flavor coffee creamer
1 package (8 oz.) Cream cheese, softened
2 TBSP chopped hazelnuts (filberts)

1. Heat Oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottoms only of two 9-inch round pans. Prepare cake mix as directed on box using butter, water, eggs adding coffee granules; pour batter into pans. Bake as directed on box. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pans and place on wire racks to cool completely.
2. In a 3 quart saucepan, cook chocolate chips and coffee creamer over medium-low heat about 8 minutes until melted. Remove from heat; beat in cream cheese with a wire whisk until smooth. Cover; refrigerate about 30 minutes.
3. In a small microwavable bowl, reserve 1/2 cup of the chocolate mixture (I set aside a little more); set aside for topping. Beat remaining mixture on med-high speed 8 minutes or until it forms a light and fluffy frosting.
4. Place 1 cake layer on serving plate rounded side down. Spread 1-inch-thick layer of frosting over cake. Top with second layer of cake, rounded side up. Spread frosting on top and side of cake.
5. Microwave reserved cup of chocolate mixture on High 30 seconds or until soft. Spread over top of cake. Sprinkle hazelnuts around top edge. Cover loosely; refrigerate at least one hour before serving. Store in refrigerator.

Trick or Treat!

Georgia's Halloween shirt for after trick or treating. So cute!

My mom bought her some "treats" that she could eat. As soon as she saw them she started signing please! We did give her some real candy though.

Digging in her little bucket of goodies at Chad's mom's.

Our neighbor's boys were darth vader and yoda. Please excuse the spelling if they are wrong. I have never seen Star Wars!

Georgia and Daddy going down the driveway to the first house!

Chad and I both asked off work Friday night to take Georgia Trick or Treating for the first time. It was so fun. We borrowed a Tinkerbell costume from our friends, the Convers. It was borderline too small but for one night it was worth it. Georgia loved carrying the bucket! We went to a few houses on our street, Chad's mom's, the Westbrook's and my parents'. We all had a great time!

Happy Halloween!

Last night my friend, Betsy, and I took our kids to the World's Largest Halloween Party at the Louisville Zoo. Some Christians don't do the Halloween thing but we are in the world but not of it. We look forward to meeting our neighbors this Halloween and building some relationships that may lead to sharing the Gospel with them! So we trick or treated at the Zoo together and had an awesome time! I gave Georgia some of a grape sucker, it was so messy but so cute. I should have taken a photo but Betsy and I had our hands full at that point!

Jacob and Georgia enjoyed the wagon Georgia got from her Nana for her birthday

Here they are in the pumpkin patch they had set up

And here we are at McDonald's afterward. Betsy and I were there, I just didn't get any photos with us in them.

Georgia was asleep in the car on the way home within minutes!

Shoes

Since Georgia has become a proficient walker and since the weather is starting to get cooler I have been sucking it up and putting shoes on her when we go out. She doesn't care for them and has a hard time walking in them but is getting much better! I thought she looked so cute in this outfit yesterday that I had to take a photo. This dress was a birthday gift from her Great Aunt Barbara. (Notice I finally fixed the date on the camera!)

One Year Well Baby Check Up

Yesterday, Chad and I took Georgia to the doctor for her 1 yr well baby visit. She only got 3 shots this time but the older she gets the harder it is for me! She looked so pitiful and her feelings were so hurt that we would do that to her! Otherwise it was a great visit. Georgia has stayed on the same growth curve so that is great and she is meeting all her milestones. Here are her stats...
Height about 31 inches 95%
Weight 23 lbs 75%
Head 18.5 inches 95%
Praise God for a healthy baby!

Georgia's First Birthday Party

Since I was part of the action and kind of the hostess for Georgia's Birthday Party the week before last, I wasn't able to take many photos but our dear friend, Lisa Marie, mailed me a CD of the photos she took. She takes photos of food displays for a living and is awesome at it so I was so thankful to get these photos! If anyone else has photos from the day feel free to send them my way!

Georgia and her Nana (Chad's mom, Linda)

She LOVED her cake!

Lisa and my cousin Denny-my-man also gave Georgia a beautifully wrapped and decorated basket of all kinds of goodies!

Little mommy pushing her Baby (BAY-BEEE) in the stroller.

My mom's awesome caramel apples. Georgia's actual birthday is the first day of fall so they were so appropriate! YUM!

I may have to post a few more photos later, like her doll bed from Betsy that SHE wants to get in and the wagon from Nana the she and Jacob took a ride in, there are just so many good ones! It was a fun day!

First Christos Clean

Georgia is such a big help with the raking!

Hard at work.
A job well done!

This past Sunday (not the date on the photos...I still need to figure that out) our church plant, Christos, did a service project in our neighborhood. Chad, Jeff, Brittney, Georgia and I packed up Georgia's wagon and went door to door meeting our neighbors and offering to do their yard work. We had a few people who did not need any work done and a few who did so it was a very successful day. We were able to serve our community in a very practical way and pray for them. We look forward to the next Christos Clean!

Georgia is Walking!

This was from last week...dalayed posting due to the power outage and Georgia's party last weekend! She is getting around better and better everyday!

Georgia's First Year

I have just spent WAY too much time trying to figure out how to get these photos to post in the order I want them and still can't figure it out so I will just give them all captions...unless I can figure out how to move them around. Does anyone else have this problem posting photos?

Baby Georgia!

Just a few days before we got to meet her in person!

Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving!

She is about 8 weeks old here.

She didn't like her first "costume". Maybe this tear will be better!

Back to Christmas photos again...

Here she is 7 months. Doesn't she think she is big stuff with her cousins, Nick and Ben?!?!?!

This is Easter.

This was one of her 1st birthday photos

Happy 4th of July!
